Indonesian thermal coal benchmark (HBA) fell for the first time in 6 months

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia declared December 2017 HBA at USD 94.04 per ton for 6322 GAR for thermal coal by issuing a ministerial decree, earlier in the month.

It meant that the HBA fell 0.8% in December, marking the first fall for the Indonesian Coal Price Reference since June 2017.

The benchmark price of Indonesian thermal coal has decreased USD 0.76 per ton month on month.

In the meantime, the December 2017 HBA was 7.52 % lower than the comparable period in 2016.
