Iron ore e-auction on May 4 and 5

02 May 2017

The directorate of mines and geology (DMG) has scheduled the 20th and 21st e-auction of 3.2 million tonnes of iron ore for May 4 and 5. In a notification issued on Friday, the directorate stated that it wouldn’t entertain any complaints regarding the exact grade of the ore, as the e-auction would be held on an ‘as is where is’ basis.

It further stated that bidders can draw samples before the e-auction. The government has identified 3.2 million tonnes of ore at different sites, including Kotambi, Costi, MPT, Mina, Rivona and Pale.
