SCCL increases coal production

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director (C&MD) N Sridhar called upon the staff to strive for achieving daily targets.

He appreciated the efforts of Singareni officials, workers and supervisors in increasing the production and successfully transporting the produce, despite incessant rains. He asked them to keep up the same pace by setting daily and monthly targets.

He said the company produced 45.2 lakh tonnes of coal in August this year as against 42.2 lakh tonnes during the same period in 2016-17, achieving 7.1 per cent more production. It transported 44.5 lakh tonnes of coal in August the previous year. This August it was 48.1 lakh tonnes, which is 8 per cent increase.

The company could achieve 232.6 lakh tonnes of coal production in the past five months, which is 5 per cent more than the same period in the corresponding year. Transportation increased by 12 per cent from April.
