Ramco Cements net dips 18%

The Ramco Cements Ltd., has posted an 18% drop in its standalone net profit for the second quarter ended September 2017 to ₹168.52 crore against ₹207.01 crore registered for the comparable year earlier period due to a steep increase in coal and transportation costs. The company’s total revenue dropped to ₹1,073.66 crore from ₹1,174.15 crore.

“For the first time, we posted double digit degrowth in Tamil Nadu due to non availability of sand and government did not purchase any cement for last 18 months,” said a company official.
