NMDC eyes 100 mt iron ore production by 2030

The NMDC is targeting a production of 100 million tonnes by 2030 from 34 mt last year as it turned 60.

Established on November 15, 1958,the NMDC made a record breaking production of Iron ore last year. With a production of 35.6 million tonnes of iron ore in 2016-17, it showed a turnover of Rs. 8,860 crore, showing a growth of 37 per cent. The profit before tax was put at Rs. 4,239crore, a growth of 5 per cent over previous year.

NMDC, which is celebrating Diamond Jubilee here on Friday, has plans to increase production capacity to 67 million tonnes by 2022, according to Chairman and Managing Director N Baijendra Kumar.
