Iran imports surge 106% in 1Q

The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has announced 4,407,695t of cement exports in the first quarter of the calendar year (21 March 2018-21 June 2019), valued at over US$159.3m.
The volume of exports was consistent compared to the year-ago period, according to MEHR News Agency.
Imports, however, surged 106 per cent YoY to 12,786t in the same period, with the value showing similar growth of 131 per cent to US$8.3m.
In the 2017-18, the country produced 55,192,200t of cement and 58,110,200t of clinker. Cement and clinker exports reached 12,134,398t, a 6.9 per cent fall compared to the previous year.
