Conference on Raw Material for Steel & Power, will be held on September 12 at Le Meridien Hotel,
New
Delhi.
Iron ore, coal and logistics for the steel & power sector are like oxygen, water and shelter for
human life.
They have the same importance for survival & sustenance of the industries and the humans who
ultimately share a common platform called “life”.
The life of a steel mill is dependent on a balanced intake of iron ore, coal and water through a
complex
interrelated network of vains forming the logsitical backbone. Being a mechanical process, the steel
mill’s
final product will be crude steel but the cost of production and the quality would be directly
dependent
on the raw materials fed to the furnaces.
Raw material has to be of an accurate mix and the cost has to appropriate to run a mammoth mill in
the
most efficient and competitive manner. Improper Quantity, Quality and Cost of raw materials can hurt
the health of the mill and lead to massive overruns. Hence, a systematic vigil is required to keep
the
furnances battle ready at all times.
Indian steel & power industry is still in its nascent stage when seen from the raw material
perspective.
The industy is still either import dependent or has domestic production issues plauging the long
term
strategic development & sustenance. In order to achieve the targetted capacity of 300 mtpa as
envisioned under the latest National Steel Policy, a lot of emphasis has to be put on the raw
materials,
the sooner the better.
Several iron ore mining leases will expire by 2020, mines which were successfully bought in auction
haven’t yet started production, coal washeries are yet to produce efficient grades and logistics
hurdles
are yet unresolved.
This Conference on Raw Materials for Steel & Power sector has been planned with an aim to address
such issues and to discuss and deliberate on the possible resolutions which may help the industry in
its
future growth.
This Summit, in partnership with the leading agencies of the Government of India is likely to
attract over
300+ attendees.
Register for Indian Steel & Raw Materials Conference 2017 today to network with the eminent policy
makers, industry stalwarts and experts from India & abroad.
